Approaches to reducing enviromental load

We are taking the initiative in promoting "green logistics" in coordination with various firms involved in distribution.

Our "Heisei no Chomoku" is at the foundation of our environmental activities.

"Heisei no Chomoku", our corporate credo, contains the agendum of developing activities of environmental preservation. This is the veritable environmental DNA that we have carried on throughout our history as a wholesaler. To mitigate distribution-related environmental problems by steps such as reducing the CO2 emissions in physical distribution and recycling packaging is our duty as a wholesaler involved in the whole supply chain. Giving full play to its environmental DNA, Kokubu is striving to alleviate environmental load through "green logistics."

We are promoting activities to support the Green Partnership.

Kokubu is implementing a "system to alleviate environmental load in cooperation with shippers and transportation companies". This system enables effective and on-going reduction of exhaust gas emissions in cooperation with transporters. It is also improving fuel efficiency by more than 10%. By expanding on this model, we aim to build a business model for food product recycling.

"Cool Biz" and "Warm Biz" activities

"Cool Biz" and "Warm Biz" activities

Kokubu introduced "casual day" (since renamed "Cool Biz") activities in 2000 and "Warm Biz" activities in 2005. We are also participating in "Team Minus 6%", Japan’s national movement for prevention of global warming. We are therefore working to prevent global warming throughout the year.
